Michele has worked in senior and mid-level management positions over seeing multi million dollar clinical programs and service lines of business in the for-profit, not-for-profit and government sector of health care. She was responsible for the pharmacy and primary care product lines for Cigna Health Plan in the state of New Mexico. She has served on the faculty of the University of Arizona and the University of Phoenix and worked as a registered nurse and Family nurse practitioner.

  • Successfully negotiated payer contracts for three teleradiology firms on both coasts and the southwest; one firm was the first to achieve this type of agreement outside a hospital setting for top payer in the market
  • Renegotiate third party payer contacts for numerous physician groups; obtain contracts for new start up organizations and physician groups and support provider network startups
  • Assist new health organizations and physician groups evaluate new services and predict revenue opportunities with fee for service, managed care Medicare and Medicaid fee schedules
  • Supported community hospital assess and redesign of pharmacy department; including human and equipment status to support strategic hospital initiatives
  • Planned and implemented $2.2 M dollar hospital project to automate pharmacy operations and supported eMar-BMV and CPOE initiatives
  • Facilitated system-wide operational improvements that resulted in $3.7 million in savings over and 18-month period for a for-profit integrated delivery system
  • Directed the reengineering of the revenue cycle for a health plan, medical group, and hospital using process improvements and new technology
  • Planned and successfully implemented a new business and patient services information management system for a hospital and ambulatory care clinics
  • Assumed chief operating officer duties for a $300 million for-profit integrated delivery system, medical group, and health plan
  • Created and implemented turn around strategies for twelve family practice, pediatric, and internal medicine staff model group practices and Urgent Care Centers resulting in profit status within 24 months
